Here is a related discussion:
I’m being sued in a Civil case in which the Plaintiff is trying to collect on a junk debt. I wrote a Pro Se Answer to both the court and the Plaintiff’s lawyer explaining that either the debt is passed the Statute of Limitations or they are trying to collect on loans that are already being paid and attached paperwork to prove it.

I was wondering if I could call their lawyer to see if they’ve reviewed my answer and realized that the debt is non-collectible.

It’s “ok.” But, if you have your own lawyer, you ought to run it past them first.

Sure you can. Good luck.

give us your opinion below.

Some lawyers prefer to dabble in all areas of law, and some prefer to master a single area. It makes sense that lawyers who work exclusively on personal injury cases will be especially good at what they do. Often, larger law firms have an entire department devoted to nothing but personal injury. Narrow down the field by focusing on attorneys who concentrate in personal injury. Make sure any attorney you consider has experience in this field of law or your case may be delayed while your attorney studies up on the procedures.
